Thanksgiving here in Canada was last month, and we had a Bon Appetit Thanksgiving Dinner. We made so much food that we didn’t get a chance to try this recipe for Buttermilk Biscuits with Green Onions, Black Pepper, and Sea Salt from Bon Appetit.
So Ward decided to give the recipe a try the other day, as it looked like a good after-school snack for the kids, and if it turned out well, it might get a place at one of our holiday dinners this December.
They were quite good, although the green onion flavor didn’t come through as much as I would have liked. They had a scone-like texture, and were fine on their own, hot from the oven and without any butter. Leftover biscuits were great heated in the toaster oven and slathered with butter. I’m not sure if they’ll make it to one of our Christmas spreads, but as a quick and easy snack or side to a weekday dinner, they definitely make the grade!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
These look so good. I love any type of bread, biscuit or muffin and made some for Thanksgiving that I already have waiting in the freezer! They’re great with herbs mixed in and a little smudge of melting butter…yum!
