We’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving on Monday. It’s two days away, and I really don’t know if I’ll be able to get through today. The kitchen is filled with gorgeous turkey smells already - Ward has decided on this incredible menu for Thanksgiving Monday, and a lot of the dishes require prep work to be done today.

Here’s what we’ll be having as our Thanksgiving dinner this coming Monday. All the recipes are from the November 2008 issue of Bon Appetit:

  • Salted Roast Turkey with Herbs and Shallots with Dijon Gravy and Wild Mushroom and Spinach Stuffing
  • Glazed Pearl Onions in Port with Bay Leaves
  • Citrus Glazed Carrots
  • Roasted Winter Squash and Parsnips with Maple Syrup Glaze and Marcona Almonds
  • Creamy Corn and Chestnut Pudding
  • Scalloped Yukon Gold and Sweet Potato Gratin with Herbs
  • Pumpkin Ice Cream Pie with Chocolate Almond Bark and Toffee Sauce

Right now he’s got turkey wings roasting in the oven for the gravy. He thinks I might be able to snack on some of the meat once he’s finished.

He’s also making Pumpkin and Butterscotch pie to take with us tomorrow when we go to my sister’s for an early Thanksgiving dinner.

I think I’m going to be really full on Tuesday.
