So tonight is take-out night (around here, most weekend nights are). And as always, we ordered in Japanese food.

We need a new digital camera, so unfortunately, there are no lovely food shots. But it was a great meal, as always.

It’s a small restaurant that we frequent regularly (at least once a week) - they’re within walking distance which, out here in the suburbs where we live, is something to truly celebrate. But it’s too cold to walk today (snow was forecast but so far nothing, thank goodness) so W. drove there to pick up our meal.

I had the Seafood Udon, and it was very good tonight. Some nights they don’t put enough fish in it, but tonight there was a ton of fish, a couple of scallops, a shrimp, some calimari and a surf clam (you see why without the fish, it doesn’t feel like much?). I love the broth that they use. Very tasty.

I also had a salmon handroll and a shrimp spring roll to round out the meal.

Okay, confession time now. I order this almost every time we have Japanese take-out. I know. I’m getting into a rut. But it’s a small restaurant, and while their food is excellent, the menu isn’t huge. So there you have it. I’d order sushi but sushi just doesn’t fill me up.

Maybe next week, I’ll order something different. Like, um, the Sukiyaki Beef Udon …
